DriverGenius CU200 @ Raspberry pi

The two connections are on the same IP segment.

They are configured in Linux with no IP address. Traffic will be bridged across the 2 ports as shown in the diagram. The USB to Dual Ethernet cable is attached to a USB 3.0 port on a Raspberry Pi running Debian 10 Buster.

When I power on the Raspberry Pi we see only one ethernet interface on the adapter. When I unplug the adapter, and connect to another USB3.0 port on the Raspberry Pi, both ethernet interfaces appear under Linux.

Once both ethernet interfaces are found, the cable operate in bridge more with no problem. I have run this now for several weeks with no issue. The issue only occurs when I initially boot the Raspberry Pi.

Unfortunately we do not have a unit – I found this product online. Basically we plan to install the adapter ‘in-line’ so that we can monitor traffic across the link. This works perfectly now. The only issue is that if our Raspberry Pi loses power, we break the inline connection as the adapter does not pass traffic if there is no power.

The product shown would provide a fail-safe mechanism to keep the inline connection running in the event of power loss. This was one option we considered, your engineers may know a better solution. What we would like is a ‘by-pass’ option.
